Lauren holds a PhD in Experimental Nuclear Physics and an MS in Physics from the University of Notre Dame. She also holds a BA in Physics and Middle Eastern Studies from Claremont McKenna College. After graduating from Claremont McKenna, Lauren spent 3.5 years in the tech world of San Francisco, working as a software engineer with Salesforce-based products. While she loved software development and the ability to create something novel within minutes, the unending discoveries of physics pulled her back for my doctorate.
Lauren has tutored physics, math, and computer science for over 15 years. Her most recent experience is from her Teaching Assistantship at Notre Dame, where she worked with undergraduate and graduate students in mechanics and E&M, electronics labs, and nuclear physics from introductory to advanced levels. Prior to that, Lauren was a departmental physics tutor at Claremont McKenna and worked with middle and high school students to help them understand STEM subjects. Her absolute favorite subject to tutor is college-level physics, especially physics for non-physics majors. She loves helping students learn to enjoy physics, from understanding the mathematical building blocks to successfully completing difficult problems.
In her spare time, Lauren enjoys baking, knitting, and cross-stitching. If she's not trying to recreate one of the intricate desserts she sees on the Great British Bake-Off, she's watching the show while making a new thread based creation for a friend or family member.
