Maya is originally from Berkeley, CA, but moved to Boston to attend Tufts University. She studied Biology and Community Health, graduated summa cum laude, and was a member of the Honos Civicus Society. Outside of classes, she sang in Tufts’ oldest all female a cappella group, was an active member of GlobeMed at Tufts, and tried to get used to the snow! She took a year off after graduating and worked in research at UCSF, investigating HIV and working to better understand its effects on the immune system and to improve current treatments and prevention strategies. She is now a student at Harvard Medical School.
Maya has worked with students of all ages in many capacities, and loves helping people achieve their potential, including on applications to medical school and standardized tests in chemistry, biology, and physics. She enjoys working with students to determine how they can both learn content and approach problems strategically in a way that works best for them.
When she’s not studying, Maya loves hiking, playing Bananagrams, and watching the Oakland A’s.
