Mickey is a hard-working Midwesterner who has now come to call NYC home after living there for over 5 years. He graduated magna cum laude from Drake University in 2015 as a dual Biochemistry and English major. He went on to receive a Master’s in Narrative Medicine from Columbia University in 2016. He is currently a dual MD/MPH candidate at Columbia University’s Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. He has extensive research experience in cognitive impairment, aging, medication adherence, substance use disorders, and Narrative Medicine. He has also written multiple research grants, study protocols, and academic articles with specialists from NYU, Columbia, and Kaiser Permanente.
Mickey’s teaching experiences have afforded him the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students. He taught an introductory course on Sociology at St. Peter’s University, Narrative Medicine to college students who are interested in a career in the healthcare field, and has tutored MCAT, USMLE, and NCLEX subjects to college and graduate students. With Cambridge Coaching, Mickey specializes in the MCAT, medical school tutoring, and medical school admissions coaching.
For respite, Mickey enjoys reading a book with a hot cup of coffee, especially on cold and quiet mornings.
