After a career as a professional dancer and choreographer in the US and France, Patricia decided to explore her interest in French language and Francophone culture and earned a BA in French and Anthropology from Hunter College, with Honors. She went on to earn a PhD in French Literature from CUNY Graduate Center. She is particularly interested in Nineteenth Century French and Francophone literature, Performance Studies, and Gender Studies.
Patricia has taught all levels of French at Fordham University and Hunter College. She has also taught Translation and Advanced French Conversation. At The New School, Patricia created a course in French entitled "Food Culture: French Style," where students learned about the food traditions and culture of southern France from historical, political, economic, and culinary perspectives. As a private tutor, Patricia has helped prepare students for the SAT in French and translated French plays. She loves teaching and sharing her passion for French language and Francophone culture with her students.
Outside of tutoring, Patricia enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and the arts (especially ballet and opera).
