Sarah Yu graduated from Brown University with a BA in History and International Relations. She then dabbled in various corporate and startup roles in finance and marketing before realizing that the correct path was to attend graduate school. She matriculated to the University of Hong Kong and the University of Pennsylvania, where she is now a PhD candidate in History. At Penn, she has worked as a Residential Fellow at an undergraduate college house, teaching assistant, and lecturer.
A native of Sydney, Australia and a long-time international student, Sarah has lived, worked, and studied on three different continents and helped students from all of them get accepted to their dream schools. She even wrote her MPhil dissertation on the history of study abroad – what historical resonance! Sarah has 10+ years’ experience as a writing coach and admissions consultant (high school, college, and graduate school), and as a test prep and academic tutor in history, humanities, and literature courses..
In her spare time, Sarah can usually be found cooking, gardening, or hanging out with her 11-year-old beagle.
