Shelly is originally from a small suburb right outside Chicago, where she has lived for most of her life. In high school, she enrolled at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, a residential STEM school. There, she really developed her love for the natural sciences and inquiry-based research. Shelly graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a BSE in Bioengineering and a minor in Chemistry. At Penn, she delved deeply into her research as a Littlejohn Fellow and Abraham Noordergraaf Fellow. Currently, she is pursuing an MD/MSCR (Masters in Clinical Research) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Shelly has always loved teaching and has worked with students through a multitude of courses. In college, she worked as a teaching assistant for a variety of STEM classes including biochemistry, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics. Prior to working with Cambridge Coaching, she had experience as an MCAT Instructor with The Princeton Review for over two years. Her tutoring specialties include biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, and test preparation for the MCAT.
In Shelly's free time, she enjoys all things nature, eating delicious food around NYC, and enjoying the occasional stand-up comedy show.
