Having grown up in Austin, Victoria truly believes that everything is bigger in Texas. Victoria attended Columbia University, where she majored in Biology and Economics, and graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. In 2014, she received a DAAD RISE scholarship to perform epidemiology research in Germany, falling in love with the country, language, and German soccer teams in the process. She went on to medical school at Washington University in St. Louis and is now a resident physician in General Surgery at Georgetown University Hospital / Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. She is especially interested in Surgical Critical Care and is considering a career in Acute Care, Trauma, and/or Burn Surgery.
Victoria has been involved with mentoring, tutoring, and outreach programs since high school. She served as a TA for Neurobiology and Immunology courses in college, and as a TA for the GI course in medical school. While in St. Louis, she tutored students for the MCAT and also served as a Regional Director for Missouri Science Olympiad. For Victoria, it has been a real privilege and inspiration to have helped younger students – now friends – with both their college and medical school applications, and to see them thrive at each stage of their education.
In her (admittedly limited) free time, Victoria is usually skateboarding on the National Mall, cooking, cheering for Bayern Munich, and training for her next triathlon.
